A confederation is an union association of superior degree that congregates at least three federations; a federation is also an union association of superior degree that gathers at least five representative unions. This way, an union is an association, guaranteed by the Brazilian legislation, which represents a professional or economic category. Therefore, the hierarchy is given of this form:
The National Confederation of Transport - CNT, was established on January 28, of 1954, recognized by the Decree number 34,986, as a chief institution representative of Brazilian Transport Sector. Although CNT's headquarter is located in Brasilia, the Republic Capital, it's powers and acts are all over the country. Its structure currently encloses 29 federations, 2 national union and 16 national associations. Sectorial RepresentationCNT represents all types of transportation: road, railway, maritime and air. Internally, these modals are represented through sections and will possess a titular representative delegate and a substitute. The sections of the CNT are the following. |
